Gift Aid provides a great opportunity for donors to increase the value of their donations to charity. Provided the donors are taxpayers, the charity can reclaim from the Inland Revenue, the basic rate tax paid on their gifts, boosting the donation by 28%. So a gift of £10 from a donor is worth £12.80 to the charity.
